Awarded 3 GOLD MEDALS and made exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon, picked extremely ripe to maintain the full sweetness of the style, and sourced primarily from McWilliam's own vineyards in the Riverina wine region in New South Wales. Partially fermented on skins for eleven days to extract maximum colour and flavour, a high quality grape spirit distilled at the McWilliam's Hanwood winery, near Griffith was added to the ferment in stages to assist with the integration of flavour. Receiving no oak treatment, this is a maverick fortified, brimming with riddles and complexities.

Muscadelle are luscious and fruity in their delinquent youth, fortified with Brandy however and aged for a quarter century in old French oak casks, they evolve into a jewel of a wine that's worthy of the most wanton indulgence. Only the finest parcels can be earmarked for inclusion into the timeless Topaque Show Reserve style, only the best stocks will survive the final cull. An immensely satisfying effort, this fine aged Oloroso is a blend of luscious fortified wines across several vintages at an average five years of age. The fortification takes place gradually, by the addition of no more than two per cent of a high quality neutral spirit at any one time, permitting winemakers to arrest vinification at precisely the desired level of sweetness. A delight to sip at any time of day, elegant and long, just a touch spicy, the dance of fruit flavours and Flor notes make Hanwood the perfect chilled aperitif or accompaniement to rich foods.

Crafted in the old world way, according to the traditional flor solera system. Wines are secondarily fermented under unique Flor caps, yeasts which grow on top of the Apera, releasing aldehydes and infusing the Sherry with lifted, nutty characters. Clean and mellow, gracefully dry and pleasingly rancio, exquisite with a warm alcohol length of aromatic malt flavours and integrated aged oak. Crafted from parcels of Mataro, Grenache and Shiraz, blended to an average age of five years. Harvest is generally later in the season, off choice vineyards in sunny Riverina, the added term on vine serving to fully ripen grapes and encourage luscious fruit sweetness. A lighter, fresher style of Tawny than McWilliam's Hanwood Ten Year Old, offering exquisite richness and complexity without overt oak.

A patiently matured, multi vineyard Muscat, vinified from Red Frontignac grapes and blended to an average age of five years. The fruit, picked extremely ripe to maintain the sweetness of the style, is sourced entirely from McWilliam's vineyards in the Riverina wine region of New South Wales. The warm and dry conditions are ideal for Fortifieds, enabling grapes to ripen superbly and to achieve great richness of flavour. Fermentation is arrested at the desired sweetness by the gradual addition of a high quality neutral Spirit, also made at the Hanwood wineworks.

Taking pride of place in the pantheon of great Australian fortifieds, Hanwood is an exceptionally smooth and mellow, rich Tawny Port. An assembly of luscious wines which have been ageing in small oak cask for up to sixty years. Great care is taken at the blending stage to achieve an average age of ten years as opposed to five, which is the practice for most other Ports. The extra time spent in oak, combined with the traditional techniques perfected by McWilliam's since 1877, are what makes Hanwood such a very special Fine Old Port.

Peter Robertson was a Lancaster gunner during World War II. Over the course of thirty missions, he was introduced to wine by his pilot, John Seppelt of Great Western. Robertson turned to farming after the war and planted the Hilltops first vines in 1969. Robertson's Barwang property has since produced some of the most memorable vintages. Parcels from two elite blocks are vinified into a richly concentrated, classically structured Cabernet Sauvignon, showing great length of black fruit flavours, olives, currants and eucalypt, over a structure of elegant oak and sound tannins, a wine of opulence and grace.

McWilliams have long been sourcing fruit from Tumbarumba for some of their most memorable vintages. It has taken many years of devoted viticulture and dedication to the land before arriving at 842 Chardonnay. This prolific award winner is the flagship white from Tumbarumba's highest plantings, crafted from fruit grown at an altitude of 842 metres. The driving inspiration for the team is to create a truly cool climate, elegant style of Chardonnay which offers engaging complexity while remaining true to the expression of Tumbarumba's lofty terroir.

In commemoration of the year Samual McWilliams planted his first vines, 1877 is a national flagship, crafted from the best fruit of vintage. The choicest parcels of estate grown Shiraz are sourced from superior mature vines on the original McWilliams plantings at Barwang among the Hilltops. Since inaugural release, 1877 has accumulated a breathtaking list of wine show trophy wins and countless gold medals. Mayfield Vineyard is one of the highest and coolest vineyards in Australia, endowed with an extended, gradual ripening period. The hundred hectare estate surrounds the historic homestead on the Icely Road leading to where gold was first discovered in Australia. Its unique aspects, low vigour soils and a modest yield regime is highly conducive to the production of elegant and refined wines. The cool climes encourage the grapes to ripen without heat stress. There's never very much of it around but Hunter Valley Shiraz commands respect, as much for its personable regionality as its esoteric, epicurean appeal. Dr Lindeman planted his first Shiraz in 1843, labelling it Cawarra Claret for export to Europe and the Empire, where it claimed honours at the prestigious competitions of London and Paris. Hunter Valley Semillon has established its own unique genre in the world of wine, praised universally for its remarkable complexity, individuality and defined regional charm. Lindeman's were at the very provenance of the style and can now draw fruit from some of the most precious and mature Semillon vines in Hunter Valley. A brisk fermentation and a fortnight of rest on gross sedimentery lees, builds structure and infuses richness, into a wine of lovely textures and exquisite balance, the essence of Hunter Valley Semillon.

Hunter Valley Chardonnay at its best, Lindeman were at the very genesis of Hunter Valley viticulture and have husbanded the finest vineyards for generations. Lindeman's can also be thanked for introducing Australian Chardonnay to the world. Well defined with textural lemon curd, peaches and regional lime complexity, time spent in a selection of seasoned French oak barrels and an extravagant course of lees stirring battonage, has infused the palate and brought luxurious mid palate richness.

Hermann Paul Leopold Buring was born in 1876, his legacy is an enduring tradition of Australia's most consistent vintages of delicious white wine. The Apple Isle is blessed by a confluence of season and clime, not dissimiliar to the great Pinot growing terroirs of La Bourgogne. The best barrels of vintage are identified for inclusion into the final Cuvée, bottled under liqueur dosage and sent for a secondary ferment in bottle over the course of ten years maturation.

A course of barrel ferments are stirred weekly to improve texture, infuse palate weight and add complexity. Components are treated to a year's maturation in a selection of seasoned and new French oak barriques before assembling into the finished wine. A richly textured Chardonnay with notes of peach and lemon barley , chestnut and vanilla, over a length of seamlessly integrated French oak.

Sixty grams of residual sugar, fashioned to the delicate Riesling styles of Alsace and the Riquewihr, grapes are all selectively hand picked and pressed for a relaxed ferment at cooler temperatures to preserve the elegance of fruit, arrested at just the point where the tang of acid balances perfectly with the toothsome natural sweetness. Josef Chromy has been instrumental in the development of the Tasmanian wine industry. He still insists on working alongside his viticultural team and keeps close tabs on every aspect of the vinification. An intensely varietal Sauvignon Blanc, kiwifruit, asparagus and tropical notes, subtle melon and ripe citrus bouquets. The palate is richly textural, classy, creamy with flavours of citrus curd, melons and passionfruit. Josef Chromy was a Tasmanian meats entrepreneur with a taste for cool climate Sparkling. He successfully developed Heemskerk and Jansz and established the Tamar Ridge label. Divesting himself of the portfolio, he settled down to the most opportune site he could find. A closely inspected collation of Pinot Noir, hand picked off superior blocks of vine planted to the most splendid Launceston terroirs. Its volume of complex red berries and subtle fragrant spice pour over a palate that's finely structured and silky before a long aromatic finish.

A superior harvest of Chardonnay, picked off vines grown to the Josef Chromy estate property at Relbia in Tasmania's north. Fruit is pressed directly into oak barrels, without the traditional cold settling or separation of musts. A fully endowed Chardonnay with exquisite barrel ferment and lees stirring richness, a cheesy, complex wine to savour alongside gourmandise truffle risotto, veal and succulent game meats. A creamy, rounded palate of complexity and depth, balanced by fresh crisp natural acid and a lingering finish​.

Botrytis affected Riesling from the Chromy estate vineyard at Relbia in northern Tasmania. The Botrytis infection is carefully monitored and the grapes are picked when the balance between delicate floral and citrus characters and the richer marmalade flavours of Botrytis is optimum. Weather conditions permitting, Chromy's closely husbanded vines yield limited harvests of Noble Rot botrytis Cinerea, drying the grapes as they hang on the vine, concentrating natural sugars, developing the most exciting perfumes and divine flavours.

If you like effervescent pink wines you will positively love Jansz Rosé. Crafted from the crème de la crème of vintage, the realization of a joint venture between Tasmania's finest sparkling wine vineyards and the eminent House of Louis Roederer, all in the pursuit of defining the ultimate Aussie Cuvée. Every block of vines was established with the specific aim to yield fruit exclusively for sparkling wine. Each stage of the winemaking process is made to the timeless Champenoise of true Methode Traditionnelle.

In 1986, Heemskerk was joined by the noble House of Louis Roederer in a pursuit of the definitive Australian sparkling. Louis Roederer shared in the belief that the climate and soils of Tasmania, so similar to those of the great winegrowing appellations in Burgundy and Champagne, were ideal for the production of finely structured Methode traditionelle. The essential Chardonnay characters of citrus and stonefruits, mingle with the rich autolysis of almonds and brioche, to build a rich and creamy, textural weight of fruit on the generous palate.
